The Real and Only Feast Day of Therese, Susan of the Sacred Heart, the Story of Susanna and My Papa’s Childlike Courage about Pope Benedict XVI

Susan of the Sacred Heart:

I wanted to do a post for Therese’s real, only and original Feast Day, yesterday, but I ended up enjoying her feast too much to write about it! There is one very important person I want to dedicate this particular blog post to (I cannot believe it has taken me this long to do so, but it must have been Providence- capital “P”- behind the delay) and I want to do so just in case this is the last post I can ever write in honor of Saint Therese’s October 3rd feast. If I had to pick one person on this earth who reminds me of Saint Therese more so than any other person, it is an exceedingly holy third order Carmelite named (Sister) Susan (of the Sacred Heart O.C.D.).

I met her through this site a few years ago, and she has been my spiritual backbone (figuratively) ever since and no doubt always will be. She has prayed countless Saint Therese Chaplets for me, my poor vocation and has never given up on praying for my seemingly impossible endeavors. In fact, if I could pick one friend in the whole world to correspond with as a future hermit, as I will only be writing family, it would be her. I am not including friends who would like to be hermits or Carmelites because they will be leaving the world as well and thus could not remain in contact anyways. Susan is a true God-sent and gift from Our Lady, so Susan, this is for you (sorry it took me so long)! I will be including the story of Susanna from the Book of Daniel in today’s blog post, and I honestly did not plan it to be the same name so close to Susan’s, but God most likely planned this because like Susanna, Susan resembles her courage, faith and heroic trust!

My favorite images of Saint Therese!

We Must Have the Fear, Faith and Trust of Susanna in These Dark Times:

I found myself meditating on the “two church” and “two calendar” situation yesterday and I think it is so obviously clear that when one “church” celebrates Therese’s feast on October 1st all the while the true Church celebrates her feast on October 3rd, exposes the two-church situation quite nicely. It is a division that is being exposed. Quite frankly, in the past, when someone would wish me a happy feast of Therese on the 1st, when I observed it on the 3rd, it made me feel like I was speaking to someone who did not belong to the true Church of Christ; I felt like I was speaking to a protestant. The mere example of different feast days being wiped away entirely, feasts being changed or moved is ONE example of the two-church situation and I believe if one observes both calendars or only observes the “new” calendar, these very souls will most likely be the ones breaking away from Holy Mother Church when the day of schism finally arrives. The old Church Father Tyconius, who interpreted the Book of the Apocalypse, said that the false church will be built on sand, while the True Church is firmly built on the Rock of Peter. Saint Therese’s feast is NOT on October 1st. As much as people would like to think so, or give Therese two feast days (because she is just that neat- let’s face it she is) is not ordered or normal. Why even have feast days in the “new” church then, if it is not Catholic? Simple: the fake church needs to have all appearances of the Church, but devoid of all graces. We are seeing that with the current state of the papacy as we speak, are we not?

The Devil is prideful, obnoxious, disgusting and incredibly full of himself, but he ain’t stupid. He knows that in order to deceive and win over God’s elect (from Matthew 24), he must make changes gradually; so gradually that before the flock knows it, they will have entered the anti-church and the gates will be locked and bolted behind them (this is why I shake my head when people follow Cardinal Burke without proper discernment). Let us consider the powerful story of Susanna, shall we? Susanna is SUCH a timely reminder of how to act when this day of schism arrives, and how to handle threats and cases of malice for resisting Satan, Antichrist, false prophet of globalism and company. I am including the full Chapter from Daniel in our footnotes [1] and so will not be speaking about the full story, but there were many parts I have underlined below that I want to expand on in this post. Susanna was described as a “very beautiful woman” who “feared God”. When she was accused falsely, she was not believed PRECISELY because she was accused by none other than the “elders” and “ancients” who were trusted by the people (sound familiar? it should).

The Book of Destiny, written by Father Leonard Kramer, who breaks down the meaning behind the Book of the Apocalypse, discusses how when Satan will have failed to destroy the bride (the Church) from within, he will seek to destroy her from without, through lies and slander. Many priests in the Church today are being set up by those found in the hierarchy who use paid false witnesses to slander their reputations, if they are holy, by planting child pornography in their things or paying men to accuse them of assault to smear their name and forever ruin them (like Susanna). The innocent goes to jail while the guilty simply are moved to another parish or promoted. If it were not so tragic all of this would be laughable. This is just ONE (of many) way that the evil one is intimidating the shepherds and flock of Christ to remain silent and submit to sin (by remaining silent about Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s fake papacy, the fraud). This is why Canon Law 188 addresses this “malicious” behavior for the wolves in sheep’s clothing with papal resignations if there is any “malice inflicted unjustly” by these wolves then the resignation is “invalid by the Law itself”. Our Lord alone only knows what kind of threats Benedict received/still receives to keep quiet to this day. How should WE (the flock) and the Vicar of Christ act when up against this type of malice? Simple: start acting like Susanna.

THANK YOU, SCOTT FOR THE BEAUTIFUL RELIC OF THERESE AND ROSE CARD!

When accused, instead of cowering, Susanna reacted thus:

1.) She had fear of God rather than fear of man:

“Susanna sighed, and said: I am straitened on every side: for if I do this thing, it is death to me: and if I do it not, I shall not escape your hands. [23] But it is better for me to fall into your hands without doing it, than to sin in the sight of the Lord[24]

Susanna was not thinking of what the people would think about her, nor of her death, her husband Joakim’s reaction, nay! She was thinking of Our Lord and desiring not to sin in His sight.

2.) Susanna had confidence not in men, but in the Lord:

And she weeping looked up to heaven, for her heart had confidence in the Lord.

3.) Like Susanna, we must call upon the Lord and trust that truth, as it always does, will prevail. Notice how the verse says that the people did not believe Susanna over the elders and ancients because they were “judges of the people”. This is the main issue today…

The multitude believed them as being the elders and the judges of the people, and they condemned her to death. [42] Then Susanna cried out with a loud voice, and said: O eternal God, who knowest hidden things, who knowest all things before they come to pass, [43] Thou knowest that they have borne false witness against me: and behold I must die, whereas I have done none of these things, which these men have maliciously forged against me. [44]

4.) Believe that the Lord will hear your voice, the way He heard Susanna’s:

And the Lord heard her voice

5.) Believe that the Lord will use the least likely instruments, the “foolish things” to confound the wise and the weak to confound the strong. Our Lord chose a “young boy” to come to Susanna’s aid, not one of the other ancients or elders present (cough Canon Lawyers):

The Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young boy, whose name was Daniel.

6.) Daniel, who chastised the people for believing the ancients and elders right off the bat, due to their mere reputations (cough cough Cardinal Burke, Taylor Marshall and Bishop Shneider fans cough cough) rather than discern for themselves nor ask for any evidence, accused the people thus:

But he standing in the midst of them, said: Are ye so foolish, ye children of Israel, that without examination or knowledge of the truth, you have condemned a daughter of Israel?

Our Lord is always on the side of truth and the truth, though it was not with the majority of the people nor the ancients and elders, was found with Susanna. “WITHOUT EXAMINATION OR KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH”… I mean… DUH… I am sorry to have to say that, but if we are not examining evidence but believing without proper knowledge, no wonder we have problems in the Church today. It should not take a genius to figure this one out. Perhaps Basic Discernment 101 should be a class every Catholic should take, clearly.

6.) Lastly, those who broke God’s Law, and according to the Law of Moses, were put to death (the death penalty is clearly biblical; remember this when Jorge Mario Bergoglio tries to tell you the death penalty is immoral).

In judging unjust judgments, oppressing the innocent, and letting the guilty to go free, whereas the Lord saith: The innocent and the just thou shalt not kill. To fulfill the law of Moses: and they put them to death, and innocent blood was saved in that day.

My Papa is my Hero:

My Papa reminds me of Saint Therese’s Father Louis, and of course my Grammie also reminds me of Zelie! They will not tell you they are saints in the making or holy, but they are, and I am not one bit afraid to say it for them. I could write a whole blog post on how much I love my Pop and Gram, how grateful I am to God for them, but it would be the longest post you have ever read from me and the longest I have ever written; so, be content with this: I LOVE THEM. A lot. My Papa is so simple, child-like (and he also happens to look a lot like Kenny Rogers) and has true courage. I found myself in awe the last several days when he confided to me that he is going to approach his priest about Pope Benedict still being the Pope this coming Sunday. I gave him about ten cards with an image of Benedict and on the back it has all the Canon Laws broken and different links that prove the case (evidence) for souls to look into. My Pop is a small business owner in the Sierra Mountains of an Equipment Rental Yard. Growing up with him was like being under the wing of Saint Joseph (certainly as it was the closest thing he could be to a carpenter without actually being one). He told me that he has already handed several out to customers at his work and engaged in conversation with those about Bergoglio not being the pope. I found myself amazed and proud, that like Daniel, Our Lord is raising up people like my Papa to examine evidence properly and try to help others examine it as well! I keep a letter he wrote me when I was a postulant in Carmel tucked away in our Mass Missal. I pray one day, that many of Our Lord’s priests will act like my courageous Pop, true Fathers!

More Men acting Like Men:

Douay-Rheims Bible, Daniel Chapter 13

The history of Susanna and the two elders. This history of Susanna, in all the ancient Greek and Latin Bibles, was placed in the beginning of the book of Daniel: till St. Jerome, in his translation, detached it from thence; because he did not find it in the Hebrew: which is also the case of the history of Bel and the Dragon. But both the one and the other are received by the Catholic Church: and were from the very beginning a part of the Christian Bible.

[1] Now there was a man that dwelt in Babylon, and his name was Joakim: [2] And he took a wife whose name was Susanna, the daughter of Helcias, a very beautiful woman, and one that feared God. [3] For her parents being just, had instructed their daughter according to the law of Moses. [4] Now Joakim was very rich, and had an orchard near his house: and the Jews resorted to him, because he was the most honourable of them all. [5] And there were two of the ancients of the people appointed judges that year, of whom the Lord said: Iniquity came out from Babylon from the ancient judges, that seemed to govern the people.

[6] These men frequented the house of Joakim, and all that had any matters of judgment came to them. [7] And when the people departed away at noon, Susanna went in, and walked in her husband’s orchard. [8] And the old men saw her going in every day, and walking: and they were inflamed with lust towards her: [9] And they perverted their own mind and turned away their eyes that they might not look unto heaven, nor remember just judgments. [10] So they were both wounded with the love of her, yet they did not make known their grief one to the other:

[11] For they were ashamed to declare to one another their lust, being desirous to have to do with her. [12] And they watched carefully every day to see her. And one said to the other: [13] Let us now go home, for it is dinner time. So going out they departed one from another. [14] And turning back again, they came both to the same place: and asking one another the cause, they acknowledged their lust; and then they agreed upon a time, when they might find her alone. [15] And it fell out, as they watched a fit day, she went in on a time, as yesterday and the day before, with two maids only, and was desirous to wash herself in the orchard: for it was hot weather.

[16] And there was nobody there, but the two old men that had hid themselves and were beholding her. [17] So she said to the maids: Bring me oil, and washing balls, and shut the doors of the orchard, that I may wash me. [18] And they did as she bade them: and they shut the doors of the orchard, and went out by a back door to fetch what she had commanded them, and they knew not that the elders were hid within. [19] Now when the maids were gone forth, the two elders arose, and ran to her, and said: [20] Behold the doors of the orchard are shut, and nobody seeth us, and we are in love with thee: wherefore consent to us, and lie with us.

[21] But if thou wilt not, we will bear witness against thee, that a young man was with thee, and therefore thou didst send away thy maids from thee. [22] Susanna sighed, and said: I am straitened on every side: for if I do this thing, it is death to me: and if I do it not, I shall not escape your hands. [23] But it is better for me to fall into your hands without doing it, than to sin in the sight of the Lord[24] With that Susanna cried out with a loud voice: and the elders also cried out against her. [25] And one of them ran to the door of the orchard, and opened it.

[26] So when the servants of the house heard the cry in the orchard, they rushed in by the back door to see what was the matter. [27] But after the old men had spoken, the servants were greatly ashamed: for never had there been any such word said of Susanna. And on the next day, [28] When the people were come to Joakim her husband, the two elders also came full of wicked device against Susanna, to put her to death. [29] And they said before the people: Send to Susanna daughter of Helcias the wife of Joakim. And presently they sent. [30] And she came with her parents, and children, and all her kindred.

[31] Now Susanna was exceeding delicate, and beautiful to behold. [32] But those wicked men commanded that her face should be uncovered, (for she was covered,) that so at least they might be satisfied with her beauty. [33] Therefore her friends and all her acquaintance wept. [34] But the two elders rising up in the midst of the people, laid their hands upon her head. [35] And she weeping looked up to heaven, for her heart had confidence in the Lord.

[36] And the elders said: As we walked in the orchard alone, this woman came in with two maids, and shut the doors of the orchard, and sent away the maids from her. [37] Then a young man that was there hid came to her, and lay with her. [38] But we that were in a corner of the orchard, seeing this wickedness, ran up to them, and we saw them lie together. [39] And him indeed we could not take, because he was stronger than us, and opening the doors he leaped out: [40] But having taken this woman, we asked who the young man was, but she would not tell us: of this thing we are witnesses.

[41] The multitude believed them as being the elders and the judges of the people, and they condemned her to death. [44] And the Lord heard her voice[45] And when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young boy, whose name was Daniel.

[46] And he cried out with a loud voice: I am clear from the blood of this woman. [47] Then all the people turning themselves towards him, said: What meaneth this word that thou hast spoken? [48] But he standing in the midst of them, said: Are ye so foolish, ye children of Israel, that without examination or knowledge of the truth, you have condemned a daughter of Israel? [49] Return to judgment, for they have borne false witness against her. [50] So all the people turned again in haste, and the old men said to him: Come, and sit thou down among us, and shew it us: seeing God hath given thee the honour of old age.

[51] And Daniel said to the people: Separate these two far from one another, and I will examine them. [52] So when they were put asunder one from the other, he called one of them, and said to him: O thou that art grown old in evil days, now are thy sins come out, which thou hast committed before: [53] In judging unjust judgments, oppressing the innocent, and letting the guilty to go free, whereas the Lord saith: The innocent and the just thou shalt not kill. [54] Now then, if thou sawest her, tell me under what tree thou sawest them conversing together. He said: Under a mastic tree. [55] And Daniel said: Well hast thou lied against thy own head: for behold the angel of God having received the sentence of him, shall cut thee in two.

[56] And having put him aside, he commanded that the other should come, and he said to him: O thou seed of Chanaan, and not of Juda, beauty hath deceived thee, and lust hath perverted thy heart: [57] Thus did you do to the daughters of Israel, and they for fear conversed with you: but a daughter of Juda would not abide your wickedness. [58] Now therefore tell me, under what tree didst thou take them conversing together. And he answered: Under a holm tree. [59] And Daniel said to him: Well hast thou also lied against thy own head: for the angel of the Lord waiteth with a sword to cut thee in two, and to destroy you[60] With that all the assembly cried out with a loud voice, and they blessed God, who saveth them that trust in him.

[61] And they rose up against the two elders, (for Daniel had convicted them of false witness by their own mouth,) and they did to them as they had maliciously dealt against their neighbour, [62] To fulfill the law of Moses: and they put them to death, and innocent blood was saved in that day[63] But Helcias and his wife praised God, for their daughter Susanna, with Joakim her husband, and all her kindred, because there was no dishonesty found in her[64] And Daniel became great in the sight of the people from that day, and thenceforward. [65] And king Astyages was gathered to his fathers, and Cyrus the Persian received his kingdom.
